Warning, MAJOR TMI coming up. I'll even put it under a cut, in case you're not comfortable with reading about creepy crawley stuff that lives under your skin.

I strongly suspect that me and my husband have been unfortunate enough to get crabs. Not the shelled ones on the beech that tweek your toes, no I'm talking about those little disgusting creatures that dig around under your skin. The thought alone makes me shiver and want to scratch myself even more. It's not yet confirmed by a doctor, but considering what the world wide web could tell me about crabs, we have all the right symptoms. Namely itching! In all the most annoying places!

And frankly, I have no clue where we got it! Supposedly it only transfers to you if you share clothes or bed with someone who has it, or has extended physical contact with an infected. And it must be me who caught it, because I itched for a good week or so before my husband started. And I hardly even leave the house these days! It boggles my mind...

Oh well, I'll call the doc tomorrow and have it confirmed. (Fingers crossed that it might be something less gross) Oh the joy of having to call all the people in your circle of friends and family to warn them to look out for crabs. *sigh*

Wow, just what you need! I really hope it turns out to be something else. But even if it is, I guess they're pretty easy to treat, aren't they? It's just the eeewwww factor. Well, fingers crossed here as well. Now I'm starting to feel itchy... (I remember when my apartment got infested with fleas once, when a stray wild cat got in my window and gave birth in my bedroom!)

Yeah, easy to treat, there's just one problem...

According to the news, crabs have been spreading like wildfire across Denmark this winter and all our pharmacies are now officially out of the products to treat it with. They've ordered more abroad, but it might take some time for the providers to deliver. Oh joy...

Scratching again just from the thought...

Do you have pets? I don't know if it's possible, but maybe you got it from them.

*hugs*

Hopefully the wait won't be long.

We do have pets, but the kind of crabs humans get can't survive on animals. Thank god. I don't fancy shampooing 5 squirming rats. If I do bathe them (at those really smelly or greasy times) I always get the "I don't love you anymore" look. *sigh*

Ahaha, yes. After mom or I gives the cats Advantage, they run to the other end of the house and don't talk to us for days.

Oh, honey, I'm sorry! I remember having fleas, we got them from our cats. It was hell! I still have a few scars on my legs from when I couldn't help but scratch. >< I hope you can get the medicine to help.
