1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
On the negative side: Had a miscarriage. On the positive side: Started posting my writing on the web.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Didn't make any. I know all too well that I won't keep them anyway.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Oh yes. One of my very best friends had a beautiful daughter.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not close to me, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
I stayed in Denmark. I don't travel a lot.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A little more strength. I'm feeling very drained after such a rough year.

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Sorry to say that the day I lost my first ever baby is the thing that marked itself most this year.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Uhm... I suppose getting through the miscarriage with most of my sanity intact.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Relations with one of my sisters. We reached rock bottom this year.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Went to hospital for the first time in my life for the scrape. Now there's a thing I hope I'll never ever go through again!

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My new phone. The old one was about 5 years old and certainly deserved to be lain to rest.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My wonderful husband. I couldn't ask for a more supporting or loving person in my life.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My one sister... the same as mentioned above.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Everyday stuff. Money has been extremely tight this year. Hoping for a little better circumstances in 2009.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
A promised visit from 2 wonderful friends from Wales. Too bad it never happened due to a financial breakdown of the travel company. But I'm still really excited about it, and hopefully they'll make it in february instead.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Kate Perry - I Kissed A Girl. It's been all over the radio constantly.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? Sadder. So many horrible things has happened this year.
II. thinner or fatter? Fatter. But some of it is from the happy circumstances of pregnancy, so I'm happy with it.
III. richer or poorer? A lot poorer. But got it all in a system now, so from now on it should improve.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Gotten out more.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Crying.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it with the inlaws and it was just wonderful.

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Yes... with Deep Space Nine and Garak/Bashir.

23. How many one-night stands?
Uh... none. Only ever had one partner and I'm currently carrying his child.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Star Trek Deep Space Nine! And NCIS.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Well yeah, but I didn't know her this time last year. The nurse from HELL!! Also my midwife, whom I luckily don't have to see ever again!

26. What was the best book you read?
Serpent's Shadow by Mercedes Lackey.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Err... not sure I understand the question. But I did discover the wonders of Les Miserables.

28. What did you want and get?
To get pregnant.

29. What did you want and not get?
Better mental health.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Dark Knight.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
26 years old and I went to my mum's for coffee and cake.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not losing the first baby. I would have been a mommy by now.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Affordable as always.

34. What kept you sane?
My husband and my fantastic online friends.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ooooh, I discovered Alexander Siddig. Haven't had a celebrity cruch like that since my teens.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Prop 8 made me very upset, even though it was happening so far away from me.

37. Who did you miss?
My grandmother. Lost her years and years ago, but I've really missed her this year. I would so have loved to deliver her a great grandchild.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
 

[info]prelocandkanar and Terasa from Wales. They tie for first place.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
Sometimes it much better to just shut up and ignore people who are really pissing you off.

All in all I've longed for the past a lot this year.

Oh yes, do let's. I do have several good things to look forward to. I have both a birth and my first ever 'on my own' travel abroad coming up. Can't wait for either.
